About This Activity

Our 1st annual Save a Heart Walk was formed to celebrate the cardiac arrest survival of Brian Spies (9/21/2015).

Brian went into cardiac arrest at the age of 31, while watching a youth football game. Due to the quick response of bystanders who performed CPR until the AED arrived to shock him, Brian is alive and well to tell his story.

Brian was transferred to Aurora BayCare in Green Bay where he underwent open heart surgery to replace his mitral valve and a second surgery to place a permanent defibrillator.

While Brian spent 2 weeks in ICU, the Save a Heart Mission was formed to provide local sport complexes with AEDs and to educate, train and certify those willing to learn CPR/AED free of charge.

Proceeds from this walk will support our mission.

We'll start at Menominee Marina bandshell area in Menominee, Michigan and walk along the beautiful bay to the lighthouse and back to Menominee Marina bandshell.
