McAllen Crime Stoppers Presents Viva McAllen and Run, Ride & Share, Saturday, August 9th from 7 am – 4 pm.  Join us behind the McAllen Convention Center from 7 am to 4 pm Community Events: Darling’s Dare Pedal Against Crime Cycling Ride 25 mile, 40 mile, 60 mile; Cowboy Q’ing Against Crime Cook-off – sanctioned by IBCA,  Run for Justice10k Family Run & Walk, McAllen Kids Run; Bike McAllen – Bike Safety & Bike Rodeos; Metro McAllen – Ride Green Ride; CrossFit Team Competitions hosted by Ranger CrossFit; Plenty of information on Run, Ride & Share Campaign promoting safety for runners, cyclists and motorists.

The races will start behind the McAllen Convention Center at 30th and Erie.

12pm - 8pm – Packet pick up behind the McAllen Convention Center- Runners/Cyclists pick-up packet for 10k Family Run & Walk & Darling’s Dare Pedal Against Crime cycling ride 60-mile, 40-mile, and 25-mile

 

12pm - Cowboy Q’ing Cook off – Cook off teams can start set-up behind the McAllen Convention Center

5:30 am – 7 am Packet pick up – You will wait in line for a while pick up packets early on Friday, August 2nd to avoid a mad dash for late registration.  There will be a line for each race please see signage before standing in line.

 

7 amDarling’s Dare Cycling Ride – 60-mile ride starts

Ride starts behind the McAllen Convention Center on Erie Ave. near 30th Street and the ride heads south of the convention left to frontage road south on Ware Road to Military Highway and west towards La Joya

 

Registration $35 early $40 late, McAllen Crime Stoppers Cycling Jersey $75

 

7 am Main Stage – Music

 

7:30 am 10k Family Run and Walk

Race starts behind McAllen Convention Center at Erie Ave. near 30th Street.  The 10k will head east on Erie Ave. to 29th Street head north past Daffodil around a park and head back south to finish behind the McAllen Convention Center at Erie Ave. near 30th Street.

 

Registration $25 early $30 late

 

8 amDarling’s Dare Cycling Ride – 40-mile ride starts

Ride starts behind the McAllen Convention Center on Erie Ave. near 30th Street and the ride heads south of the convention left to frontage road south on Ware Road to Military Highway and west towards La Joya

 

8 am “Border Wars Team Shootout” - Team Competition hosted by Ranger CrossFit Coach Miguel De La Fuente

 

8:30 am Darling’s Dare Cycling Ride– 25-mile ride starts

Ride starts behind the McAllen Convention Center on Erie Ave. near 30th Street and the ride heads south of the convention left to frontage road south on Ware Road to Military Highway and west towards La Joya

 

9 am – Presentation on Main Stage

 

9 am Kids Bike Rodeo – Traffic Department and McAllen Police Department

 

9 am   McGruff’s Kids Run – McAllen Police Department & Run, Ride & Share

Bring your child to run with McGruff at behind the McAllen Convention Center

Ages:  5 years old to 13 years old

Runners will be awarded a ribbon 

 

9 am Cowboy Q’ing Against Crime Cook-off

Set up on Friday, August 2nd behind the McAllen Convention Center

Sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association (IBCA)

McAllen Crime Stoppers and La Joya ISD Campus Crime Stoppers

 

Registration $200 for a four man team

Jackpot $25 per entry of fajitas, beans, and pan de campo

 

10 am Kids Bike Rodeo – Traffic Department and McAllen Police Department

 

11 am Main Stage – Music
