About This Activity

 “Hero Mud Challenge” is geared towards the adventure seekers who want to get physical and dirty. The 5k course will give participants the opportunity to test their grit, determination, and endurance against obstacle courses while having fun in the MUD. 

WHO:  The McAllen Crime Stoppers program along with the RGV Crime Stoppers Coalition are hosting the Hero Mud Challenge event

WHAT:  Hero Mud Challenge – Dress as your favorite Super Hero (Costume not required for participation) 

WHEN:  Saturday, May 17, 2014, event starts at 7:00 am, waves will start departing at 7:30 am and continue every 15 minutes

 

WAVE TIMES:  7:30 a.m., 7:45 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 8:15 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 8:45 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m.

WHERE:  McAllen Polo Fields at Springfest Park located at 3501 S. 23rd St., McAllen, Tx. 

WHY:  To raise funds that help to support the non-profit crime stopper programs

 

PACKET PICKUP DETAILS: 

Packet pick up will be at the Hero Mud Challenge site, Springfest Park located at 3501 S. 23rd, McAllen, TX, on the following dates:

Packet pick up - Thursday May 15, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Packet pick up - Friday May 16, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Please bring a valid form of identification for packet pickup.  If you are picking up a packet for a friend, you must provide a copy their ID. 

If you are an adult picking up a packet for a minor that you registered, you must also present a form of identification for verification. 

This is a hero filled mud run challenge and participants are expected to tackle some 20 plus fun obstacles.  Bring your family and friends and dress  up as your favorate Super Hero while getting dirty.  We guarantee you will get dirty.

The RGV Crime Stoppers Coalition is composed of the following programs:  McAllen Crime Stoppers, Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers, Mission Crime Stoppers, Edinburg Crime Stoppers, La Joya ISD Campus Crime Stoppers and Cameron County Crime Stoppers.    

The Crime Stopper programs are non-profit organizations built on a solid partnership between law enforcement, the media, and our community in the efforts of solving crime.   Through anonymity, citizens furnish valuable information leading to the arrest of criminals and in return, Tipsters can be compensated with a reward of up to $1,000.

Event schedule and times

The event will start at 7:00 a.m., with the first wave of runners departing at 7:30 am.

 

Waves are limited to 150 participants and will be departing every 15 minutes. 

 

It is encouraged for participants to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their staring time.
