The 3rd annual Snap to a Cure will benefit Alana Duhon and Sydney Colomb on Sunday, October 13th, at North Vermilion High School. The event will kick off with the 1 mile run at 8am with the 5k shortly after. All are welcome to come enjoy the morning with complimentary water and food for all. Please come support our event so we can remember two young ladies that were taken from us way to soon.
There will be plenty to do with a fun jump for the kids along with a live DJ! Food and beverages will be provided after the race thanks to our many sponsors. Shirts will be given to all registered participants. Ages 4 and under can register for the race for free but will not receive a t-shirt. Strollers are welcomed. The race will start at North Vermilion High School's stadium and continue on the streets of Maurice. The one mile fun run will commence on the track but will not be chipped bib timing. Awards will be given for the top runners and top team with the most participants.
On February 4th, 2018, Superbowl Sunday, four friends were struck by a drunk driver and Alana and Sydney gained their wings. This tragic accident has left an everlasting impact on their families, classmates, friends, teammates and our community.
Alana was the daughter of Denry & Stacy Duhon. Alana would have been a Senior at North Vermilion High School. She was a member of the Varsity Softball Team and an active member of 4-H. Outside of school, she enjoyed taking trips to the beach and chatting with friends on Snapchat.
Sydney was the daughter of Nolan "Joey" & Kristine Colomb. Sydney would been a Junior at North Vermilion High School. While at North Vermilion, Sydney was a member of the Junior Varsity Cheerleading Team. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, hanging out with friends, and had a passion for makeup, which she intended to pursue after graduation.

5K Awards: Top Overall Male & Female, & 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Male & Female in each age group.
1 Mile Awards: Top Overall Male & Female. Team Members Registered: Top Team with the most registered team members.
