For four years, hundreds of runners and walkers have brightened up Blount County with the annual Glow Trot 5K. And each shining step has raised money for vital missions work in Haiti—over $25,000 so far. And now’s your chance to light up the night again in 2018!
When: Saturday, May 5, 2018 @ 8:00 pm. Where: William Blount High School 219 County Farm Rd, Mayrville, TN 37801. Pre-registration packet pickup: Friday - 05/04/2018 4:00 – 7:00pm @ Blount Community Church ***Registration packets available race day at the registration table starting @ 5:30pm at William Blount High School.*** Awards: Overall and age group winner medals, contests for Most Glowed Out, Most Unique and more! Refreshments will be furnished at the race and live music will be present. Swag bags with sponsor and glow items are also provided as part of your registration along with finisher medals for the first 300 finishers (NEW THIS YEAR!!!). The kid's area will be back this year featuring bounce houses, face painting, pony rides and lots of other fun activities. All proceeds benefit the Freedom House kids in Haiti...Kids Helping Kids! Festivities start at 5:30. So come early and bring some extra cash!
The 5K race will start near the football stadium and will proceed to County Farm Rd. You follow County Farm Rd to William Blount Dr and then enter the 9th Grade Academy. You make a loop around the Academy and then take a right onto Stadium Drive. You will then run back close to the start/finish line and run a second loop of the same route. After the second loop you will take a right through the parking lot to the far end and make a loop to the left. For the finish you will enter the track area, run three quarters length, exit and the start/finish line will be shortly after back to the left.
