About This Activity

The Rebel Run 10K, 5K  and 1Mile Run/Walk will finish on the 50 yard line of Renfro Field in Shields Stadium at Maryville High School, in Maryville, TN. The Rebel Run is a fundraising event for the Maryville City Schools Foundation which provides the ongoing enrichment of educational programs for all students in Maryville City Schools. Learn more about the Maryville City Schools Foundation website here.

DATE/TIME/PLACE: Saturday, August 26, 2017 starting at Maryville High School, 825 Lawrence Avenue, Maryville, TN 37803; The 10K race will begin at 7:30am with the 5K and 1mi to follow shortly afterwards.  Participants in all three events should plan to be at the start line at 7:30am.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: NEW FOR 2017...THE 10K AND 5K COURSES WILL BE USATF CERTIFIED!  Both the 10K and 5K are single loop courses with some rolling hills and fast flats, traveling on area roads, greenway, and sidewalks. The 10k features 5 of the 7 Maryville City Schools along the way. 1 Mi. course is out-and-back on area roads. All courses start and finish at MHS.

REGISTRATION: Paper registrations must be postmarked by August 18, 2017; Online registration must be complete by August 22, 2017; and Day-of-race registration at the MHS gym between 6:00am and 7:00am on August 26, 2017. Register by Aug. 2, 2017 and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $100! Note: Day-of-race registration prices increase by $5.

RACE PACKET PICK-UP: Early packet pick-up will be held on Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25.

T-SHIRTS: High quality t-shirts for all registrants. Participants registered by August 20, 2017 are guaranteed a shirt by race day. Later reigistrants will receive a shirt while supplies last. An additional order may be placed after the race for later registrants and will be available for pick-up at the MCSF office located at 402 Melrose St., Maryville, TN 37803.

AWARDS AND AGE GROUPS:  All participants in the 1 mile fun run, 5K, and 10K races will receive a finisher's medal.  For 10K and 5K races, cash prizes will be awarded to the overall top three male and female finishers: 1st place-$100, 2nd place-$75, 3rd place-$50

RESULTS: Timing services are provided by Knoxville Track Club. Results will be available at www.ktc.org and www.RunSignUp.com.

This event is timed electronically with a timing chip attached to your race bib. Your race number/chip is programmed to coincide with your individual race number. During the event, you will cross mats that will record your time from your disposable race bib. Please do not BEND, TEAR OR ALTER your race number.  Runners must wear the bibs on the FRONT of their person, and must wear the bib number associated with their name.

SAFETY AND COURSE ETIQUETTE:  Aid and water stations will be provided along the course (10K - 2 stations; 5K - 1 station); Because you will be running on area roads and sidewalks, the use of headphones and baby strollers are discouraged and participants do so at their own risk. Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are prohibited.  Note: because this is an open course, there may be traffic on the roads.  Parents of young children should run with their kids.
