About This Activity

Bookin' It 5K features a 5K race course for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities and a Bookworm Jog for children 12 and under.  And if you can't participate in the race, you can help support the race as a Silent Reader.  The race course starts and finishes at the Ocmulgee National Monument and takes runners on a paved course winding around Macon's historic Ocmulgee Indian Mounds. Strollers are welcome, but must line up behind the runners. Finish line services are presented by A Course/Line LLC of Valdosta. The Bookworm Jog will start at 8:30 AM; 5K will start at 9:00 AM. There will also be post-race refreshments and entertainment for the entire family.

Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers in the 5K. Top male and female finishers in the following age groups will receive recognition: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, and 56+.

All proceeds go to benefit the Junior League of Macon's mission to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The League is focused on improving literacy and school readiness in the Middle Georgia community through school partnerships, education, fund raising, advocacy, and hands-on projects.
