About This Activity

The Mission Possible 5k Run and Hike will take place on the final day of the SHAPE Michigan state convention held on Mackinac Island October 6-8.  The objective of the Mission Possible 5k is to provide a fitness activity opportunity to SHAPE members, convention attendees, family members and the community.  This event will take participants through the very unique and beautiful natural setting of Mackinac Island.  This event is also meant to bring participants together and enjoy and energize each other on the final day of the SHAPE convention.  SHAPE Michigan is a non-profit organization and while we would like this to be a no cost event we need to cover the operating costs associated with permits etc.  It is for this reason that we plan to charge $10 for convention attendees and their family members and $15 for the general public. Children under 8 will not be charged to participate with their parent.   As advocates for health and well-being for students, families, community members and ourselves we feel pleased to offer this 5k run/hike to the community as a way to raise awareness of the mission of our organization.

We will have a raffle with prizes and light refreshments after the race.  We will also have a T-shirt trade.  To participate people can bring a past running event, SHAPE Michigan event or school staff shirt to donate to the trade and take home a new find!  Any leftover shirts will be donated to a clothing shelter.
