The Community Health Task Force’s (CHTF) Diabetes Advisory Council needs your help! Our Fourth Annual Walk the Bridge event is scheduled for November 12, 2016 from 12 to 3 p.m., at our NEW! location, the Baily Bridge in Lynn Haven. Our goal is to engage our community in promoting diabetes awareness and healthy lifestyles, and raise money to support individuals who cannot afford diabetes prevention or self-management education.
Last year’s event was a great success, with about 300 community members walking for diabetes. With your help, we can make the 2016 event even better.
The Diabetes Advisory Council is a CHTF initiative whose goals include educating the public about the dangers of obesity, promoting diabetes awareness, improving the lives of people with diabetes, and promoting healthy lifestyles to reduce the risk of developing pre-diabetes and diabetes. Diabetes affects everyone in our community. Approximately 59,000 Bay County residents are at risk for developing diabetes, but most do not event know it.
Active community members like youare the key to our success and make it possible for the Diabetes Advisory Council to provide education about diabetes prevention and care.
You can participate by registering a team of walkers from your place of business or organization or registering as an individual.
The Community Health Task Force (CHTF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with all donations fully tax-deductible. We hope that we can count on your support to help us reduce our community's risk of diabetes and promote healthy lifestyles.
