About This Activity

Maverick Multisport Elite training camp is designed for the Adult Age Group triathlete that is training for a half-iron or full-iron distance event in mid to late 2014.  The camp will be led by 3 of the Pro triathletes on the Maverick Multisport Elite team (short info on them below) and the camp will be limited to 18 athletes.  This will keep the ratio of athlete to Pro at 6:1 to ensure we provide the best experience and give the most attention possible to each athlete.  Camp is USAT sanctioned and insured.  We will also feature industry experts from a few of our team partners including:

  • Ashley Meuser, MS, RD, LD - Nutritionist from Infinit Nutrition to speak on training and race day nutrition and hydration
  • Scott Hunt, Jr. from Lakeside Seahawks (Captain of 1996 Texas Longhorns NCAA Divison 1 National Championship swim team) for swim stroke analysis & leading the first day swim workout
  • Jaime Key Cryan -Certified Yoga instructor (Vinyasa, Bikram, and Power), 17 time marathon finisher, 2 time Ironman finisher
  • Jeff Sangalli - Primal Sport Mud, natural recovery techniques
  • Dr. Alan Bee/Calvin Spear - The Center for Alternative Medicines, Active Release Technique demo, foam rolling, kinesio taping and run gait
  • A few other surprise guests too from team partners!

Maverick Multisport Elite Team Camp Itinerary

(All times are approximate and subject to change based on weather and other factors)


Athlete must be able to:

Complete 2,500+ meter swim sets

Complete 60+ mile rides at min 17 mph avg.

Complete Run 9+ miles

**A full complimentary selection of Infinit Nutrition products will be available for all swim/bike/run workouts**

Day 1 - Thursday June 12, 2014

6:30 am - Maverick Mulitisport Elite Camp Meet and Greet/logistics at VO2 Multisport (131 St Matthews Ave, Louisville, KY 40207)

A light breakfast of bagels, coffee and fruits will be on hand.

Final Registration, Insurance collection, Waivers signed (this is a USAT sanctioned event so participants must be ANNUAL members of USAT since it is a multi-day event!), Swag distribution which will include a Maverick Elite Camp T-shirt, TYR Sport Maverick Multisport swim cap, lots of great swag from our bounty of team partners including one pair of Swiftwick socks per person, complimentary Primal Sport Mud, free A.R.T. from Occupational Kinetics, unlimited Infinit Nutrition at camp AND one lucky person will start camp with a brand new $200 Cobb Cycling saddle, we'll give it away to someone before we leave on our first ride so you can test it out!  (your choice of model)

7:30 am - Swim at Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center (201 Reservoir Ave, Louisville, KY 40206, a 50 meter, 11 lane, indoor faciliity) led by Scotty Hunt, Jr. former Texas Longhorn National Champion and current Lakeside Seahawks coach/ swim stroke analysis


10 am - Refuel at VO2 Multisport (provided) and prep bikes for ride

10:30 am - Mechanic on hand for final needs, depart on long ride with full SAG support, a portion of the ride will be on the Ironman Louisville course.

4 pm - catered group meal (provided) with sponsor talk at VO2 Multisport

6 pm - short run with core work

Day 2 - Friday June 13, 2014

6 am - Full complimentary breakfast provided at host hotel, however at VO2 Multisport coffee, bagels, and fruit will be available too.

7:30-8am - Meet at VO2 Multisport, prep bikes for another big ride with full SAG followed by a short off the bike run, wheels roll at 8:00 am.

2:00 pm - catered lunch-Qdoba (provided)/ sponsor presentation

4-5 pm Yoga/Core Work

6:30 pm Dinner reservations (this is optional for participants) TBD - will allow for an informal forum of discussion with our Pro triathletes

Day 3 - Saturday June 14, 2014

6 am - Full complimentary breakfast at host hotel

7:30 am - BIG swim outdoors with different dry land work at Glen Oaks Country Club (10601 Worthington Ln, Prospect, KY 40059, a 25 meter, 6 lane outdoor faciliity)

10 pm - LONG run at either Tom Sawyer Park or downtown to run a large portion of the Ironman Louisville course (SAG support either way, location TBD)

1 pm - catered lunch (provided)/presentation from industry expert at Host Hotel

2 pm - Trip to Louisvllle Slugger Museum, Entry is FREE for each athlete courtesy of Louisville Slugger! (this is completely optional but will offer a nice 1 hour break in between sessions and you get to see them make the bats, a truly unique experience)

5:00 pm - short recovery ride from host hotel

Day 4 - Sunday June 15, 2014

6 am - Full complimentary breakfast at host hotel

7:30 am - BIG swim outdoors at Glen Oaks Country Club, Prospect KY

10:30 am medium length ride with short off the bike run (no SAG)

3 pm late catered lunch-Qdoba (provided) with expert talk and closing remarks

4 pm Maverick Multisport Elite camp adjourned

Host hotel will be the Hampton Inn Northeast which is located only 10-15 minutes from all of the various swim/bike/run locations that will be utilized during the 4 day camp.

To ensure that you receive the corporate discounted rate of $99 per night for the camp, please make sure to give them the code: 'Maverick' and state you are with the Maverick Multisport Elite Team Camp.  A block of rooms at the discounted rate will be available on Wednesday 6/11, for those arriving the night before camp, through Saturday 6/14 (4 nights total).  The discounted block of rooms will only available to our camp until 5/26/14, please make your reservations before that date.  If you would like to share a room that has 2 Queen beds with another athlete at the camp, please send an email to Team Director Chris Hutchens at and we will put those respective athletes in contact with each other, thanks so much!
