About This Activity

We are proud to present the 11th Annual UCLA IronBruin Triathlon on November 8th and 9th of 2014. This year, in addition to the Ironbruin Classic (non draft-legal), we will be hosting the IronBruin Draft-Legal race.

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 1 PM PST ON FIRDAY. REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE SUNDAY CLASSIC RACE ON RACE MORNING UNTIL 5:45 AM OR AT EITHER PACKET PICKUP LOCATION BETWEEN 5 PM AND 7 PM ON SATURDAY:

Bike Improve: 10929 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90025

Top to Top: 2621 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90403

The draft-legal race will take place on the 8th of November and the Classic race will take place on the 9th.

2014 will be the first year the Draft Legal race will be featured at IronBruin. The swim will be 300 meters for High School racers and 500 meters for Collegiate racers. Each racer will be assigned half a 50 meter lane and a lap counter. The bike course will be 8 (3 laps) and 13 miles (5 laps), respectively for High School and Collegiate competitors. Finally, the run will be 2 miles for the High School division and a 5k for Collegiate and Open division.

2009 was the first year we implemented the time-trial start, with racers starting the race at a fixed interval from each other to start the 8 lap snake-swim around the pool. Competitors will transition from T1 (at the pool) to complete 4 laps on the bike course. After this, racers will go through T2 (at the IM Field) and run the 5k course to the finish.

The purpose of this race is to serve as a fun, but challenging, race in the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference (WCCTC) race series. We hope to draw athletes in from as many schools as possible to race with us on our campus. We want your experience at UCLA the best it can be, so if you have any suggestions for improvements with the race please send your comments to uclatri@gmail.com.

The UCLA Triathlon Team is student-run organization and an official club sport of the UCLA Recreation Department. In addition to a structured coached program for students, UCLA Triathlon also provides coaching and a team atmosphere for staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. UCLA Triathlon provides a multifaceted training program for members of all levels to excel.
