About This Activity

It’s not just a ride, it’s a movement for the safety of all on the streets of Los Angeles.

Finish The Ride started after bicyclist Damian Kevitt was dragged nearly a quarter mile under a car. It was a gross hit and run crime which is a common occurance in Southern California.  Having barely survived, he vowed to get back on a bicycle and FINISH THE RIDE -- not just for himself but to help make the streets of Southern California safe for ALL.

Now the event is not just about Damian's triumph over tragedy but about finishing for the nearly 6,000 other people in LA County who have been severly injured in hit and run crimes.  By just participating, you are helping Finish The Ride raise awareness and handle the epidemic of hit and run crimes, thereby making the streets safer for you, me and everyone else.

Check out for videos and information about the amazing beginnings of the movement.

Finish the Ride, Run Walk n Roll starts in historic Hollywood, California, tracing the route Damian took on that fateful day in Feb 2013.  The routes continues into Griffith Park which is an oasis with ideal roads and paths for runners, walkers and bicyclists.  With full streets closures to ensure highest safety for all, it's a great event for the whole family.
The event includes:
  • Ride = Four routes ranging from 6 to 50 miles with a 200 to 3,500 foot elevation gain (22, 27 and 50 Mile are timed and with medals awarded)
  • Run = 10K (timed and medals awarded)
  • Walk and Roll = 10K
  • Cool goodie bag and free t-shirt with registration
  • Timing chips and medals awarded for selected events
  • Great live music and dancing
  • Free festival and safety expo with giveaways, raffles, prizes and activities for the kids.  Feel free to bring the whole family!

Join FTR 2015 not only for yourself, but for those who survived, those who didn't and the safety of ALL!
