Peninsula Poverty Response - Outrunning Poverty

Event Date

Sat, Apr 26, 2014

Long Beach, WA

About This Activity

On April 26th, 2014, Peninsula Poverty Response will be “Outrunning Poverty” in a 5K-run/walk event to raise awareness within the community at large and raise funds for future projects, including a resource left with components of individual case navigators, access to existing resources and emergency housing.

In a rural area such as Pacific County, the struggles of people experiencing poverty and homelessness are less visible than they might be on the streets of a large city. Peninsula Poverty Response aims to create more awareness around these problems and reduce the associated stigma.

Peninsula Poverty Response meets the second Thursday of each month at 2PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaview. All are welcome! With your help, we can improve the outcomes for those experiencing poverty in our community!

NOTE: Peninsula Poverty Response operates under the 501C3 and financial auspices of Ocean Park Lutheran Church. Donations directed to OPLC through this page will be for Peninsula Poverty Response.
