The 2nd annual Father's Day weekend event will take place at Floyd Lamb State Park at Tule Springs...an oasis in the desert in northwest Las Vegas. It is formerly known as Tule Springs. Its history includes an early winter stopping point for Native Americans, and later a working ranch.
This event is not just for Dads!! Men, women, kids...the whole family is welcome to come out and participate in the event! It's a great way to kick off Father's Day weekend! :)
The course is an out and back. It starts out on a flat tree-lined path that runs along the lake and the historic portion of Tule Springs where you will enjoy beautiful lakes, lush vegetation, ducks and peacocks! Then it takes you out onto the crushed limestone basin trail around the park surrounded by beautiful desert landscape, shaded picnic areas and views of the Sheep and Spring Mountains. It is easy walking for the beginner as well as a fast course for the advanced runner that wants to PR!
There are many picnicking areas around the course for your friends and family to come out to support you and/or to have a Father's Day picnic after the race!
Every participant will receive a tech shirt and a finisher's medal!
There will be awards, music, food, prizes and lots of fun!
Don't forget to wear your favorite Father's Day tie! :)
