About This Activity
Date, Time, & Place: Thursday November 23, 2017 in Downtown Knoxville. Pre- and Post-race activities will be held at The Mill and Mine on West Depot. The Little Gobbler Run starts at 8:00. The 5K starts at 8:30.
Course Description and Highlights: USATF Certified. A beautiful and fast downtown course Starts and finishes on West Depot in front of The Mill and Mine. Start on Depot and go toward Central Left on Central to Magnolia. Right on Magnolia to Hall of Fame. Right on Hall of Fame all the way to Hill. Right on Hill to Gay St, Right on Gay all the way to Emory Pl, Left on Emory Pl to Broadway. Right on Broadway to Central. Right on Central to Depot. Right on Depot to Finish.
Registration & Entry Fee (NO REFUNDS AND NO TRANSFERS): Age Based pricing applies to this event. Cost for ages 12 and Under for the 5K is $10 through November 1, 2017. Cost for ages 13-17 for the 5K is $15 through November 1, 2017. Cost for ages 18 and up for the 5K is $20 through November 1, 2017. During late registration (November 1 - 20), cost for ages 12 and Under is $15 with cost for 13-17 being $20 and ages 18 and up is $25. Cost for all 5K participants is $30 during late registration (November 21-22nd) and on race morning. Cost for the Little Gobbler Run (12-Under) is $10 through race day. No discounts or coupon codes apply to the Little Gobbler Run.
Packet pickup and late registration date and location will take place at Academy Sports + Outdoors on Tuesday, November 21, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Staff and volunteers will not be ready to distribute bibs until 5:30 pm. An additional packet pickup is scheduled for Wednesday, November 22 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Mill and Mine on West Depot.. Race day registration is from 6:30 -7:45 a.m at The Mill and Mine. Cost for late (packet pickup) and race day registration is $30. KTC Membership discount will apply butno discounts or coupons may be used at late registration/packet pickup or race day registration.
T-shirts: Short-sleeved, unisex shirts. Please note our new shirt policy: Anyone registering after November 10th will receive shirts while supplies last. The shirt order will be placed on November 13th and when the inventory runs out in the RunSignUp system then there will be no more shirts. No re-orders.
Awards: Awards to top 3 Overall, top Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior Grandmasters(60+) for Male and Female. Awards to the top Clydesdale (male, 200 lbs+) and Athena (female, 150 lbs+). Overall winners not eligible for age division awards (three deep). Awards must be picked up during the awards ceremony. Age division awards will not be mailed. Although the race is chip timed, awards are based on gun time per USATF regulations.
Team Competition: This race is on the Grand Prix Team Competition schedule. Please visit www.ktc.org for details. Teams must pre-register.
Grand Prix Points: 2017 Grand Prix Presented by Threds Points awarded. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix awards, you must be a member of the KTC and you must volunteer for at least 3 events.
Refreshments: Refreshments provided for participants only after the run and walk.
Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the 5K course. The 5K course closes in 1 hour, 15 minutes.

KTC Safety Policy:
KTC’s mission is to encourage lifelong physical well-being through running and walking. That is accomplished through a variety of events and programming. The Knoxville Track Club puts the safety of its participants, spectators, staff and volunteers first. Dangerous weather conditions pose a unique challenge to an event of any size, distance or location.
Therefore, KTC has adopted the following Inclement Weather Policy: Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, with special attention placed on the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, extreme temperatures and humidity. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these conditions on Knoxville Track Club’s website (www.ktc.org), as well as through other available means of communication such as e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and public address announcements. The Executive Director and Race Director in consultation, when available, with law enforcement, fire/EMS, other medical officers and other officials, will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include: Altering the start time, altering the course, or in extreme situations cancellation of the event. Visible lightning occurring within 30 minutes of the scheduled start will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 30 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 30-minute increments up to a maximum of 3 delays. Race personnel reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race or modify the course due to inclement weather. As stated on registration and race pages, there are no refunds or transfers. Participants must abandon the race if ordered to do so by the race personnel, medical staff, fire/paramedics or police personnel.
