About This Activity
The Barberitos Sprint & Olympic Triathlon takes place at the gorgeous Warriors Path State Park. The swim is off the point of Duck Island in the clean channel waters. The bike courses are along scenic country roads with lots of shade. The run courses are entirely within the park with stunning views of Fort Patrick Henry Lake.
The swim courses are out and back mostly along the shoreline. The Sprint bike course is an out and back along Fall Creek Road to the end of Old Mill and back. The Olympic bike course starts along the same route and then continues along a hilly scenic loop. Climbing Buttermilk is the first real challenge then there are two very steep short climbs towards the middle of the course. There are lots of rolling hills but also some nice sections where you can really fly. The Sprint run course is one loop around the park which includes one hill. The Olympic triathletes will complete the loop twice.
