About This Activity

The 2nd annual "Phi K: Race to Defeat ALS" will be held on Kent State University's campus. The fraternities of Phi Delta Theta from Akron and Kent State University will be teaming up again on April 25th to raise money to help a worthy cause. This is a philanthropy that is raising money for the ALS Association, which provides treatment and research to find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease.
Last year, we were able to raise over $17,000! This year, we have set our goal at $25,000.
Family, friends, brothers, sisters, cousins... This event is open to anyone who is looking to support this cause! Not a runner? That's alright. We want YOU to be here to be apart of a great event where community involvement is our #1 focus.
The cost is $25 for each runner. Runners will receive a race t-shirt, bottled water, fruit, and ticket to be entered into a raffle.
We will be raffling off some great prizes this year! Last year, participants had the opportunity to buy tickets to win an iPad, 32" TV, and many more!
Pre-registration will begin at 8 a.m. The deadline to register for the event is April 24, 2015. It will be $25 to register as an individual, $22 to register for a group of 10 or more, and $19 to register for a group of 20 or more! Register by April 18th to guarantee yourself a race day shirt.
