About This Activity

The 2nd Annual Santa Shuffle 5K Run/Walk

Everyone GETS A full SANTA SUIT TO wear and KEEP! Wear it over running clothes or bring your own Christmas themed attire. It is the break you need in your busy holiday season. Recreate and give a little something back to someone that has so much less just by participating.

The Santa Shuffle 5K event is specifically designed to celebrate Christmas as the epileft of giving, while also celebrating active lifestyles, helping kids while having serious fun all for a good cause. The Run/Walk will feature everyone in the family from toddlers to grandparents. Participants will have the choice to do the full 5K run or the 2 Mile Walk or Trot. Both courses, designed to accommodate the fitness goals and levels of runners, and walkers of all ages. The course will flow through the most beautiful and historical areas in Kansas City. The Run/Walk will start behind the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum at 9:00am, run/walk east down 18th St. towards the Gates Plaza, and return. After the run/walk is completed all participants dressed as Santa will be given a wrapped gift to carry inside to give to a child, during the Breakfast with Santa event. In addition to the Santa suit, participants will receive

The secondary goal of the event is to raise awareness and financial support for Team WallStreet Foundation. Its offerings are designed to create many community events in and around Kansas City, from giving out back to school supplies, and gifts during the holidays, to teaching high school aged students the fundamentals of sports broadcast journalism, sports photography, sports marketing, and sports interviewing skills.

Packet Pick Up

Q: When and where is Packet Pick-Up?

A: This year, packet pick up will be held on Saturday, December 17th at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (1616 E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO).  Packet pickup will be held from 9:00am until 12:00pm.  Packet Pick up will also be held on Tuesday, December 20th at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (1616 E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO) 3:00pm – 5:30pm.

Packet pickup will also be available on race morning from 7:30am until 8:00am at the start/finish area behind the Negro Leagues Museum.

Same day registration will be available both packet pickup days and race day morning.  Please plan to register on Race Morning by 7:30am to ensure we can accommodate everyone.

Q: Can I pick up my friend’s packet or have my friend pick up my packet?

A: Yes, you may pick up a friend’s packet during packet pick-up and vice versa, a friend can pick up your packet. You must bring an email confirmation ticket, and have a valid ID available.

Q: Is there race day packet pick-up available? What are the other packet pick-up options?

A: Yes. Race day packet pick-up WILL BE available on Thursday morning from 7:30 to 8:00a.m. Packet Pickup will close exactly at 8:00 a.m. so Santa says get there early and expect long lines.


Q: If I have a large group can you put my group’s packets together in advance?

A: Yes! This makes packet pick-up go much smoother for everyone. If you have a group of 15 or more please email us with your list of names and we will put your group’s packets all together for 1 person to easily pick them up at packet pick-up.


Q: What time should I arrive for the race?

A: Please arrive early and allow plenty of time to park. We will begin the Pre-Race Stretch at 8:45am.

Q: What if the weather is bad?

A: The event will take place rain, shine, or snow. However, if the weather is threatening (lightning, storms, etc.), we will have safety weather flags and announcements for further information.

Q: Can I request a refund?

A: No, there are no refunds. In the event of bad weather you may choose the option of a virtual race with 24 hours prior to the race

Q: Where Do I park?

A: We strongly encourage carpooling and getting to the Start early, as there may be traffic. Allow sufficient time for heavy traffic congestion and street closures due to the race.

Q: What are the Post Race Awards and when will the awards be presented?

A: Every Participant will receive a participation Medal when you cross the finish line.

Q: Will gear check be available to participants?

A: No, gear check will not be available to participants. We strongly suggest leaving valuables in your at home.

Q: Where should I wear my timing chip?

A: We will be using the bib tag system. Your timing strip is on the back of your bib. Please wear your bib on your front chest with nothing covering it. The bib must be on the outside of all clothing, jackets, etc. to receive an accurate time.

Q: Does the Santa Shuffle benefit any charity?

A: Yes. The KC Santa Shuffle 5K benefits the Team WallStreet Foundation’s Breakfast with Santa Event.

Q: When will the Race Results be posted and where can I find them?

Q: Is this a USATF Certified Course?

A: The 5K course is not certified.

Q: What is the course like? Is it hilly or flat? On trails or roads?

A: This is a mainly flat course on paved roads.

Q: Is there a course time limit?

A: Yes, all participants will need to keep around a 15 - 18 minute mile pace. The course will close completely at 11:00 a.m.

Q: Are headphones allowed on the course?

A: Yes, you may use headphones during the run. Just please be aware of your surroundings and others around you racing.

Q: Are strollers allowed?

A: Yes strollers are allowed, but you must start in one of the back corrals.

Q: Are walkers allowed?

A: Yes

Q: Are dogs allowed?

A: Yes dogs are allowed.  MUST HAVE A DOG LEASH

Q: How is the starting corral set-up?

A: There will be signs at the start that indict various mile paces. Please line up accordingly to your pace – minute per mile. Please be in your corral by 8:45 a.m. as the race will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
