About This Activity

Join us for a low-key 5k in support of Katie! Final race route to be announced closer to event date. Katie is part of the USMC family. She is currently receiving treatment at VCU in Richmond, VA, but her dad is still stationed here at Camp Lejeune.

If you are local, come join us in person. If you are joining us virtually, be sure to run on April 3rd, wherever you are, and post pictures using the hashtag "courageforkatie". You can also post pictures to Katie's facebook page (search Courage for Katie).

Katie is a BEAUTIFUL six (and a half) year old girl who is represented by her loving heart of gold, her smile, and the compassion that she possesses. Her heart is in her smile, and she is a beautiful soul. She has been diagnosed with T-ALL; hers is particularly aggressive and presented with subtle signs such as lethargy, loss of appetite, and just a general change in personality; her family took her to the ED just to find that she had a mass in her lung, and enlarged liver and spleen. Katie is now undergoing an intense chemotherapy regimen to beat this cancer. Thank you for your support and love during her fight.
