Rules Checkpoint Challenge  

  1. Register at www.TheCheckpointChallenge.com
  2. Group discounts and promotions may apply. Email:  info@shananiganz.com to inquire.
  3. Waivers: Signed registration waivers for each participant are required to participate.
  4. Event Schedule:
    • 12:00 Check-In; Receive race bags, maps, scorecards, etc.
    • 1:00   Opening Ceremony
    • 1:30   Race Start
    • 3:15   Clues submitted at Checkpoints
    • 3:30   Return to Landing; Post Party, Awards, Prizes
  5. Teams must travel “ON FOOT”. No scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, taxis, cars, bikes, etc. Wheelchairs and Adaptive Equipment are welcome.
  6. Team Goal: Get as many “Passes” team scorecard as possible by 3:15.
  7. Teams will get a pass by solving the clue, going to the designated Checkpoint and successfully completing a challenge. The Checkpoint Volunteer will issue a Pass/Fail on your Score Card for the challenge and give you the next clue. The solution to the clue directs you where to go for the next challenge.
  8. Teams will receive the first clue at The Landing and earn the remaining clues at each Checkpoint.
  9. Teams must only go to the Checkpoint designated on clue.
  10. Teams must give the “solved clue” to the next Checkpoint Volunteer for the team to attempt the challenge there. If you have difficulty with a challenge, we encourage you to move on through the route.
  11. Bonus Points: There are three Bonus Posters on the route.  Teams must show the volunteer at any Checkpoint a photo of Bonus Poster 1, 2 or 3 to get a bonus Pass.
  12. Teams must obey pedestrian rules.
  13. Mulligans: Every team that raises at least $500.00 will receive a Mulligan. The Mulligan can be used to get a “Pass” on any ONE Challenge.
  14. Scorecards: Score Cards must be turned in by 3:15 to the Checkpoint Volunteer (located at each Checkpoint). Only Teams who submit their scorecard by 3:15 will be scored!!
  15. Return to The Landing in a safe manner by 3:30 to qualify for prizes/raffles (Must be present to win).
  16. Tiebreaker: If needed, top tied teams will compete in Tiebreaker Challenge in Landing     Courtyard
  17. Post Party Prizes: Team/representative must be present to win. Prizes will be awarded to:

              Top Three Teams with the most Passes; and

              Top Fundraising teaml

      18. Winners will be determined by the Checkpoint Challenge Committee and all        decisions are final.

Lastly, please be kind to our wonderful volunteers and one another. We all share the same goal; to raise money to support those with disabilities on the First Coast… to Live Playfully;
