About This Activity
The 4th annual Finish Strong 5K Run takes place in Huron CA. This year runners will enjoy traditional Cinco De Mayo colors, music, and dances. All proceeds raised will go to the Huron Community Enhancement Foundation to award the very first Jackie Navarro Scholarships to Huron & Coalinga High School students. Jackie Navarro grew up in Huron & Coalinga and had a heart for both communities. In 2014 Jackie passed away just days before our 5K Run. We encourage individuals, families, friends, and teams to dress up in multicolors and show your love and support for your community. Top Male & Female runners from each age division will receive medals and giftcards. The race begins at the Huron Branch Library, passes Chesnut Park and then runs alongside a stretch of agriculture fields. The route cuts through a residential area and then finishes by wrapping around the park, the elementary school, and returning to the library for our Color De Mayo Award Celebration. Local organizations, groups, and vendors will all be awaiting the runners at the finish line. All runners receive a Color De Mayo T-Shirt and a goodie bag filled with food and gifts from our sponsors. Last year we had 168 registered runners and anticipate well over 200 this year. Don't miss your chance to "Run With Jackie!"
