Dam Site Half Marathon
About This Activity
The beauty of the fall colors at Lake Bloomington in late October awaits you.
ABOUT THE DAM SITE RUN... The Dam Site Run was created in 2020. It started as simply a rare opportunity to race that year when nearly every other race was cancelled. Turns out, the late October date meant perfect fall colors as the leaves started to fall around Lake Bloomington, creating the perfect backdrop for a fall race. THE HALF MARATHON RETURNS FOR 2021! Be sure to like the Facebook Page for updates: https://www.facebook.com/DamSiteRun $10 DISCOUNT FOR LAKE RUN CLUB MEMBERS!All active Lake Run Club Members are entitled to $10 off their registration. Seriously, $10 off! Thank you for being a Lake Run Club member and supporting this local event. WHAT'S IN STORE FOR 2021? Certified course. Custom commemorative race bib with your name on it (if you register by October 1st). Post race food. Chip timed, with split times at 1/3 and 2/3 of the way. Awards. Finisher medal (optional). Of course swag (stay tuned for an announcement). Like in 2020, the more that register, the more fun we will offer (remember the food truck?). And beautiful fall colors. Our goal is to give you your money's worth. WHAT ABOUT THE MARATHON? In 2020, there were no other marathons to run anywhere close. In fact, we had participants come from across the country (North Carolina, Washington, Kansas, Florida to name a few) to run the marathon. With the return to racing in 2021, there is a marathon scheduled in Illinois every other weekend in October. Our intent is not to compete with established events trying to come back after the pandemic. We made the difficult decision not to host the Marathon in 2021. If a marathon is your plans, we encourage you to support one of these events to ensure their longevity.
