Running-5K - Individual
About This Activity
ASPS stands for Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that forms in the bones of young adults. It is resistant to Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment. To really emphasize the “rare” aspect, there is only 15 to 80 cases nationwide each year. Since it is resistant to standard chemotherapy treatment, new treatments involving new chemotherapy drugs are being adopted, and that is why we need your help. Nathalie Traller raised $11,000 on her own to benefit ASPS research and we want to continue living out her dream. The profits of this race will be going to the Rutledge Foundation who is working with Doctor Kevin Jones of the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah in developing two drugs to treat ASPS. By signing up you are not only helping put an end to this terrible disease, but are willing to plant and water the seed that Nathalie began.
Together, we can kickASPS.
Event details and schedule
The kickASPS 5k run/walk will be from 10:00am-2:00pm on Saturday, March 5th. Parking will be on the North side of the building by the track. Additional parking, if needed, will be directed to the South end of the building by the tennis courts. Once you arrive, make your way to the track where you will present your ID at check in. This is also where you will recieve your bib number and t-shirt. The color on your bib number will represent what heat you will be in. The first heat will begin at 10:00am. We recommed getting to Century at least 30 minutes before the start of the first heat to allow for check-in. Make sure to bring additional clothing as it might be cold and/or rainy. Early check-in will occur on Friday, March 4th at 4:00pm at Century's track. Volunteers will help direct along the race route.
