About This Activity

Come join us for 7 days of riding across the great state of South Dakota.

The ride starts Sunday, June 8, 2014, in the Black Hills of western South Dakota and continues east through one of the state's most highly recognized natural wonders - the Badlands. Riders will then experience three full days of bicycling through the Badlands' unique landscape, followed by three more days of riding through areas which most travelers will never see in South Dakota.

In this cross-state tour, RASDak introduces tour participants to South Dakota's amazing variety of landscapes - from Ponderosa pine-covered Black Hills and the haunting terrain of the Badlands to the river breaks and ranchland of western South Dakota and the rolling farmland and fields of eastern South Dakota.

Event details and schedule

The ride starts at Palmer Gulch Resort near Mount Rushmore west of Rapid City, S.D., on Sunday, June 8, 2014, and ends at the Sanford Fieldhouse in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Daily mileage ranges from 50 miles to 94 miles.

Along the way, the supported tour provides overnight accommodations for camping, and luggage transport for two bags per rider. The South Dakota Cattlewomen will again be supporting the ride with pit stops and fundraisers throughout the week. Be prepared with extra cash for the extra goodies along the way!

A charter bus will be available at a cost of $100 to transport participants from the Sanford Fieldhouse at Sioux Falls to Palmer Gulch Resort on Saturday, June 7. The bus will load from 7 to 8 AM and will depart at 8 AM. Long term parking is available at the site.

The 2014 ride will support the South Dakota Rancher Relief fund, which helps the ranchers and families affected by the October 2013 blizzard which devastated livestock herds in western South Dakota. A special jersey for the Ranchers Relief ride will be available for registrants to purchase.

Register now and mark your calendar for a great week of riding. Registration insurance is available. This year our group picture will be in the Badlands - we hope to see you in that picture!
