About This Activity
What better way to celebrate the first day of summer than with your friends and family by running a 10K/5K races! Join us for the celebration of The 18th Korean American National Sports Festival in Washington D.C. We are very excited to host our first annual KASA-GW 10K/5K Races open to the general public. The race course takes you through historic downtown Herndon. Both 10K and 5K courses are USATF certified. Premium quality award medals are presented to the top three finisher from each age group, both male and female, from 14 & under to 70 & over. Celebrate your accomplishments with friends and family after your race. We will have post race food and refreshments for runners as well as music and fun. So, come out and join the festivities!!

Location: Herndon Community Center (814 Ferndale Avenue, Herndon, VA 20170)
10K - $35 through May 21; $40 from May 22 – June 19 (online Registration closes June 19 at 5pm); $45 June 20 (in person at Packet pick up) & June 21 (Race Day)
5K - $30 through May 21; $35 from May 22 – June 19 (online Registration closes June 19 at 5pm); $40 June 20 (in person at Packet pick up) & June 21 (Race Day)
The Race Course
Both 10K and 5K races will be run on certified courses throughout the historic Town of Herndon on paved roads. USATF rules prohibit strollers, baby joggers, pets, in-line states and headphones on the course. Water will be available at the start/finish line as well as throughout the course. The race will begin and end at the Herndon Community Center.
Please Note: Participants should be able to complete the 10k race in 90 minutes and the 5k race in 45 minutes – After these times, race officials will transport any participants still remaining on the courses back to the Herndon Community Center.
Saturday, June 20, 2015 11am-3pm and on Sunday, June21, 2015 6:15-7:00am at the Herndon Community Center.
From DC/Northern Virginia/Maryland, take Route 66 or 495 to the Dulles Toll Road. Take the Toll Road West to Herndon (Exit 10). Go right on Elden Street. Take a left immediately after the fifth light onto Ferndale Avenue.
Limited parking will be available at the Herndon Community Center. Additional parking is available at Herndon Middle School, located at 901 Locust Street (from Elden Street, turn on to Locust Street before coming to Ferndale Avenue).
