About This Activity

Wake Up & Run No Sleep Events promote narcolepsy awareness. Narcolepsy is a life-long sleep disorder as common as type I diabetes, yet it is usually misdiagnosed and misunderstood, even by much of the medical community. It affects youth and adults alike and can be debilitating without proper treatment. Our hope is to raise awareness and funds for research to find a cure.

August 15 Event Day
4:30-5:45 PM     Final Registration & Packet Pick Up for 5K and 1-Miler
6 PM     Sleep Walker 5K Run
6:30 PM     1-Mile Pajama Party Fun Run
7 PM-7 AM (overnight)    70K No Sleep Ultra & R-E-L-A-Y


All races take place within Drakes Creek Park (http://hendersonvilleparks.org/Drakes_Creek_Park.html)

Various trails will be marked for 5K and 1-mile courses. Detailed course route will be available prior to the race with registration materials.

From the south (Nashville)

Take I-65 North toward Louisville. 

Take exit #95 (Vietnam Veterans Blvd – Hwy 386) toward Hendersonville. 

Take exit #7 (Indian Lake Blvd / Drakes Creek Rd). 

Turn right off exit. 

Go straight through three stoplights. 

Turn right into park at edge of Demo’s Restaurant parking lot.


Take I-65 North toward Louisville. 

Take exit #95 (Vietnam Veterans Blvd – Hwy 386) toward Hendersonville. 

Take exit #3 (Hwy 31E) toward Hendersonville. 

Follow 31E (Main St / Gallatin Rd) through town to stoplight #9 (Cherokee Rd / North Park Rd). 

Turn left at stoplight (by White Castle). 

Follow road into park.

From the north (Louisville/Bowling Green)

Take I-65 South toward Nashville. 

Take exit #97 (Long Hollow Pike – Goodlettsville). 

Turn left off exit ramp.  Turn right at 2nd stoplight (Conference Drive). 

Turn left onto Hwy 386 (Vietnam Veterans Blvd – you will go over by-pass to turn left onto it). 

Follow directions above for exit #3 or exit #7.


From the east (Murfreesboro) or West (Memphis)

Take I-40 or I-24 toward Nashville. 

Take I-65 North toward Louisville. 

Follow directions listed above to park.  

From Gallatin

Take Gallatin Road toward Hendersonville. 

Bear right onto Vietnam Veterans Boulevard (Hwy 386). 

Take exit #7 (Indian Lake Blvd). 

Turn left off exit ramp. 

Follow directions above to get to park.


Take Gallatin Road toward Hendersonville. 

Turn right at stoplight #10 (Indian Lake Blvd). 

Turn left at Demo’s Restaurant to enter park.


Recommended parking near soccer fields at rear of park.


All participants must show valid ID (if minor, parent or guardian must provide permission) and signed waiver before participation. Additional waivers will be available at the event.


Participants attending the overnight event will want to bring cash if they plan to purchase food or snacks from local vendors overnight. Bring pillow or comfortable clothing, a sleeping bag, snacks and any overnight toiletries you and your team may need.  Each team member must have a headlamp to participate—these will be provided at the registration.


Sleep Walker 5K Participants are encouraged, but not required, to dress as your favorite “Walker,” in pajamas, or like a zombie.  A prize will be available for the best-dressed participant.

1-mile Pajama Party Fun Run Dress in pajamas or bring a favorite bedtime toy. Come dressed in a fun way to raise sleep health awareness. Prizes available for best-dressed participants.

70K No Sleep Ultra & Relay Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable running attire. If runners would like to wear sleep attire for awareness, they are encouraged to do so.
