About This Activity
The 3nd Annual Harrison Township, MI Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)
RACE DAY SCHEDULE
8:45 a.m. Sponsor Set-Up
9:00 a.m. Silent Auction Begins
9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Registration and Packet Pick-Up
11:00 a.m. Fun Run/Walk
12:00 noon Awards Ceremony
Kids Activities and bidding at the silent auction throughout the morning.
Please note the Registration Fee for those registering after September 11th is $33.
This year a Fun Run/Walk will be held within Lake St. Clair Metropark at the Thomas Welsh Activity Center located next to the park office. The flat, out-and-back course will start and finish near the activity left taking participants on the scenic boardwalk along Lake St. Clair. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.
Park entrance fee is not included.
Ample parking for the event is located within the Nature Center parking entrance.
Registration and packet pickup will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on October 3rd at the Thomas Welsh Activity Center at Lake St. Clair Metropark, 31300 Metro Parkway, Harrison Township, MI.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female overall finishers, and 1st place female and 1st place male ostomate division.
A unisex Race T-Shirt and race bib are included with your registration fee. To ensure you receive the T-Shirt size you ordered, please register by Friday, September 11th. We will do our best to provide you with the T-Shirt size you ordered or a similar size, however, this is not guaranteed after September 11th.
OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH
Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies.
The Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be a family-friendly event including a silent auction and kids' activities.
Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATE link at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.
