Get ready to lace up your shoes, don your Island apparel, and head for the Gwynn’s Island “Kukini Run” sponsored by Virginia Tidewater Trailrunners (VTTR) benefiting the Mathews County YMCA & Gwynn's Island Civic League. In Hawaiian, Kukini means "swift runner or messenger, employed by old chiefs, with a premium on their speed." If you’d like to support a great cause & enjoy the Island theme, we invite you join us. The event will be held to coincide with the annual Gwynn’s Island Festival and features a 1-mile fun run/walk and both 8k and 5k run options.
AWARDS: will be presented to the first male & female finishers in the 5k & the 8k, and to the top 3 finishers in 7 age groups for each race. 1 mile participants will each receive an attractive lei as they cross the finish line. Also available are some fun raffle prizes post-event - of course, stick around after the race to enjoy the Gwynn's Island Festival!
