About This Activity

The Mystic River Valley Triathlon is a 1/2 mile swim, 14.4 mile bike, 3 mile run. The swim is a triangular course around buoys in the Mystic River. We will have multiple waves. The bike is a 14.4 mile loop through Stonington-Mystic which is mainly flat with some small, quick hills. The run is a flat 3 mile run through Mason's Island.

The Mystic River Valley Triathlon can be entered as an individual or a team of 2 or 3. Teams will have to pass off their timing chip within the transition area.

Event details and schedule

When:  Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 8:00am

Start time is 8:00a sharp.  Please plan on arriving early.

Wave one will be at 8:00a for Men 39 and under.  Wave two will be at 8:03am for Men 40 and over.  Wave three will be at 8:06am for Women and Teams.

Parking will be at a premium.  Please carpool if possible.  Volunteers will be on site to direct you to several parking areas.  Please be respectful when parking.  Please look for YMCA staff and volunteers for parking guidance and directions.

Early packet pick-up:  Saturday, June 13th, 2015 - 12pm to 2pm at the Mystic, YMCA upstairs in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Bike set-up is first come first serve.

We invite you to please plan on staying for the award ceremony following the race.  We will have food, refreshments and a live band for your entertainment!

Timing:  We will be using a chip timing system.  Chips may be picked up the morning of the race in designated areas.  Teams will need to pass off their chip in the transitions area.  Course maps will be posted on our website:  http://www.oceancommunityymca.org

Bag, Chip and Registration Booths:  Located at the Pavilion at the back of the YMCA.  In case of inclement weather, registration will be in the Gym.

Course Marshals will be at most intersections to ensure athletes stay on course.  They will also be spread out around the YMCA to help you with any questions.  Emergency personnel will be spread out along the courses for your safety as well.

The entire course is open to general motor traffice.  Rules of the road must be followed at all times.

Helmets must be worn.

Please, NO DOGS.
