About This Activity
April 11th, 2015 marks the 4th Annual Bearcat Breakout 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run hosted by the PEES (Physical Education & Exercise Studies) Club, a student organization at Lander University. The Bearcat Breakout is intended to be an annual community event that promotes the health and fitness of our community by adopting an active lifestyle. This year, funds raised during this event will help provide enhanced educational opportunities for our PEES students in the way of professional conference attendance, scholarships, and other professional development opportunities. Hosting this event at Lander University also provides an avenue for students, staff, and faculty to serve the community in which we live. Service inside and outside of the University is something that is strongly encouraged and supported at Lander.
For the 5K, we will award the Top 3 overall male and female finishers, the Top male and female Master’s finisher (40 and over), and the Top 3 boy and girl finishers (14 and under). For the Kids 1K, we will award the Top 2 boy and girl finishers (ages 1-7), Top 2 boy and girl finishers (ages 8-11), and the youngest finisher.
Event details and schedule
The Kids 1K run will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. The races wind in and around the beautiful Lander University campus.
