The Paris Mountain 20K has been selected to be the 2016 RRCA South Carolina 20k State Championship! With over 2500 vertical feet of elevation gain, 89 curves, and some hills at 15% grade, this course lives up to it’s billing as the TOUGHEST RACE IN THE SOUTH. The race starts at Furman, ascends the north side of Paris Mountain, descends on the south side, and uses the hilly back roads at the base of the mountain to return to Furman.
Paris Mountain "Mountain Goat 10K" is a new event for 2016. If you’re a road warrior at heart, but only want to suffer HALF the distance, this race is for you! The Mountain Goat 10k is a hilly run around the base of Paris Mountain starting at Furman and finishing at McAlister Auditorium. The total elevation gain over the 10K distance is roughly 1500 feet.
The Flatlander 5K starts at Timmons Arena, passes the mall and library, circles the lake and finishes at McAlister Auditorium. The Flatlander is perfect for beginning runners, families, walkers, and competitive runners vying for an age-group award. The 5K course has less than 100′ of total elevation gain.
