About This Activity
Come join us on November 16th! Whether you want a challenge or a fun run, Paris Mountain Road Race has something for everyone!
With over 2500 vertical feet of elevation gain, 89 curves, and some hills at 15% grade, the Paris Mountain Road Race 20k lives up to its billing as the TOUGHEST RACE IN THE SOUTH. The race starts at Furman, ascends the north side of Paris Mountain, descends on the south side, and uses the hilly back roads at the base of the mountain to return to Furman. We are honored to have been chosen to host the 2017 Road Runners Club of America South Carolina 20k Championship.
Paris Mountain Road Race 10k was a new event in 2016 and continue this year. If you’re a "20ker" at heart, but only want to suffer HALF the distance, this race is for you! The Paris Mountain Road Race 10k is a hilly run around the base of Paris Mountain starting and finishing at Furman University. The total elevation gain over the 10K distance is roughly 1500 feet.
The Paris Mountain Road Race 5K starts at Timmons Arena, passes the mall and library, and circles the lake. This event is perfect for beginning runners, families, walkers, and competitive runners vying for an age-group award. The 5K course has less than 100′ of total elevation gain. We welcome strollers in the Paris Mountain Road Race 5k. For safety reasons, we ask that you start in the rear in the field.
Strollers are not permitted in the Paris Mountain Road Race 20k or 10k. We love to run with our dogs, but dogs are not permitted in any of the Paris Mountain events.
As in the past after expenses, it is the intent that part of the remaining proceeds will go to a worth cause.
