About This Activity

The Ghoulish Gallop
Rocking Horse Ranch Therapeutic Riding Program is hosting the 5th annual Ghoulish Gallop 5k on Sunday, October 8th, 2017. Rocking Horse Ranch Therapeutic Riding Program is a not-for-profit organization founded by Eileen Van Houten in 1991 that provides equine assisted activities and equine assisted therapy to children and adults with a variety of physical, cognitive, and psychological disabilities. Students who participate in the program come from Pitt County as well as 13 surrounding counties in eastern North Carolina. The ultimate goal of the program is to improve each rider's quality of life so that they can become more independent, productive and active members of the community.

The Event
The Ghoulish Gallop will be held at the Town Commons in downtown Greenville from 12:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday, October 8th, 2017.  This event will include a 5k run, a 1 mile fun walk, and a Best Costume contest!

This year we will be adding a stick horse jump off! You can bring your own decorated stick horse or borrow one from our corral. Take your stick horse friend around the jump course for a chance to win big! Prizes will be given out for the top three fastest times around the course, and everyone registered will get a chance at the drawing for a big prize.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the program and participants of Rocking Horse Ranch.
