Cross Training 5K
Family Walk (5K)
About This Activity
Get Excited as our 11th Annual Ministry Fundraiser offers Greenville their 3rd Annual Cross Training 5K Race!! Hope of Glory and CrossFit Greenville are proud to announce the addition of the Cross Training 5K to benefit those in need throughout Pitt County. Please join us as we blend our Annual 5K race with Cross Training exercises into a beautiful new course beginning at Uptown Greenville, towards the Town Common and back up 5th Street, running by East Carolina University.
Our race offers the option to runners to run a regular 5K, for families to walk a 5K together, or those who like to step up their fitness level can participate in the 6 cross training stations guided by coaches from CrossFit Greenville. These stations are placed throughout the 5K run and require a completion of specific exercises with multiple repetitions. Any weight exercises will be adjusted based on fitness level and weight requirements. Heats will be used to separate beginner, intermediate, and advance cross training levels.
Proceeds will help Hope of Glory Ministries in their mission to relieve burdens, empower families, and proclaim Christ throughout our community!

Hope of Glory Ministries was founded in 2001 as a 501 (c)(3) Christ‐lefted community outreach ministry. A large focus of our ministry is helping those in Pitt county who live at or beneath the level of poverty. It is estimated that 25.5% of Pitt County residents live beneath the poverty level. Based on US Census 2010 estimates, this translates into 42,800 people. Five days per week we distribute food, clothes, and household items to individuals and families who come to us for assistance. In 2016 our Resource Center served 1,441 families which consisted of over 5,189 people. Our poundage of food distributed was estimated at 48,351 pounds.
Race-day registration and check-in will be set up under the tent at Race Headquarters at UBE’s back parking lot off Evans St. Registration will be held from 6:30 AM until 7:45 AM.
Race Day Parking
Race day parking will be available in the public lot across from UBE, parking decks, and public spots on side streets. No parking in UBE parking lot, please.
The run will begin at Uptown Greenville on Evans Street near The Scullery, head towards the Town Commons, travel down 1st St., back up 5th Street, running by East Carolina University and finishing at Uptown. Six Cross Training Stations will be located shortly before each mile split. Water will be supplied at each mile marker. The course is USATF certified.
Timing of the race will be provided by Run the East. Each participant will be supplied a computerized chip that will be attached to their running shoe. It is very important the chip be on the shoe at the start and finish of the race to ensure accurate race time. Timing chips must be collected at the finish line for accurate race results. Results will be posted after the race. They will also be available online at www.RunTheEast.com
