About This Activity

Event details and schedule

Every year, in honor of World AIDS Day, Triad Health Project sponsors a community awareness and fundraising event, Winter Walk for AIDS. For the first time, we are officially incorporating a 5k run, named in honor of Ron Johnson, longtime THP supporter and largest single Winter Walk for AIDS fundraiser. This event brings together individuals and groups from all walks of life and all over Guilford County to raise essential funds for Guilford County's HIV/AIDS service organization through sponsored participation in the Walk and Run.

The 5K Walk/Run (aproximately 3 miles) through the beautiful campus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro sends a powerful message to the over 1,600 people living with HIV/AIDS in Guilford County, that they are not alone. United in hope for a future when HIV/AIDS is defeated, the Walk also serves as a reminder to our community that HIV/AIDS and others STDs continue to affect every demographic, particularly minorites and young people age 13-24.
