About This Activity
The New Year's Duathlon and 5K Run/Walk are fundraising events for Girls on the Run – Sacramento, a non-profit agency working to promote health and fitness to young girls. You can make a donation online by clicking here. Our FREE New Years Duathlon is a great TBF tradition and this year in addition to our Duathlon (2 mile run - 6.5 mile bike – 2 mile run) we will also be adding a 5K Run/Walk to help support this wonderful cause.
The first FREE 400 spots in the New Year’s Duathlon are FULL. At this point entries will be $20 with proceeds from each entry donated to Girls on the Run – Sacramento.
The first 100 spots in the New Year’s 5K are $10. Prices will increase $5 for entries 101 to 200. Proceeds from each entry will be donated to Girls on the Run – Sacramento.
For the New Years Duathlon there will be an Overall Champion prize for the first overall male and female finisher along with second and third place male and female overall awards. For the New Year’s 5K Run there will be age group awards for male and female runners for first through third place. There will also be raffle prizes for all competitors who stick around and insert their bib number in the raffle bin. Winners must be present to collect prizes that will include apparel, training equipment and gear, XTERRA Wetsuits, and TBF Racing gift certificates.
Pre-order your New Years Duathlon & 5K long-sleeved tech-tee shirt (available in XS, SM, MED, LG, XL and XXL) for only $30 and pick it up on race morning!Your purchase helps supports Girls on the Run – Sacramento. Must be pre-ordered prior to December 15th.
Run - The 2 mile run course is the same for both legs of the race. The course will run on granite paths, single track trails, and a small section on pavement with an aid station at the start of the run and the half way point.
Bike - The 6.5 mile road bike course is on closed roads within Folsom Lake State Park. The course has several turns and twisting corners winding through the oak forest bordering Folsom Lake. Care should be taken on several sharp turns so as not to exceed safe speed limits.
After the New Years Duathlon hot soup along with cookies and fruit will be available to all competitors free of charge. Family, friends and spectators can purchase a meal ticket for $5 to help support Girls on the Run Sacramento.
TBF Racing always needs volunteers to help keep our events organized, safe, and fun. If you or a friend would like to volunteer, please email Teri@totalbodyfitness.com.
