About This Activity
The NEW Chanoko Trail Run and Team Relay Challenge is a new fun running event with four divisions: Individual 10K and 30K Trail Runs, and a 30K Relay Team and 90K Relay Team division. The individuals will run either one (10K) or three (30K) 10K trail courses competing for age group awards.
All Relay Teams for both distances will consist of three runners. The 30K teams will have each runner do one of the separate and different 10K trail loops, coming back to Granite Bay, tagging the next runner, who will run the next loop til all three courses are completed. For the 90K Teams, all three team members will run each loop, then move onto the next loop, til all three courses are done. In each Team division, only one runner will be running at a time. For this Relay RUN Division there will be Team Awards for male, female and coed teams.
There will be a RUN-and-PLAY division as well as the RUN Only option for Teams. In this division after each runner completes a 10K loop complete they must work with their teammates to complete a "cross-fit-type" activity involving: upper body strength, lower body strength, then total body strength and agility. These activities have to be completed before the next runner in the relay can take off, in essence part of the course.
At the end of the RUN-and-PLAY course will be The Gauntlet, an Adventure Obstacle Course involving huge inflatable slides and jump houses, ropes, slip & slides, ditches, crawls, zig-zags, etc.... all culminating with the three team members crossing the finish line together.
Also at Granite Beach we will have a full-day of expo vendors, hot and cold food for sale, a rock climbing wall for kids, and our Tri4kids Youth Triathlon Club workouts will start that morning from Granite Beach.
The Gauntlet will also be open to the Public from 9-5 pm that day for adults to enjoy for $20 as many runs as they want, and Kids for $10 all day.
