The MJM Trail Run for HOPE is designed to give hope to those who find themselves in the seemingly hopeless situation of a cancer diagnosis. When my mom, Mari J Meyer, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in May of 2012, my world stopped. All I could do was hang onto my faith and the HOPE that a miracle would happen and my mom would beat the impossible odds. After a few weeks and one failed chemotherapy treatment, our hope was fading. On June 22, 2012, my dear mother took her last breath and went home to be with her Heavenly Father. Feeling lost, my mind raced to find a way to move on without my best friend. I recognized that I can reach hundreds of others feeling the same hopelessness I was feeling. And so started the MJM Trail Run for HOPE. A 5K walk/run for the whole family and community to come out, band together, and help beat cancer in a healthy way. Every year we join together at East Kentwood High School for a beautiful run through the cross country course preceded by memorial balloon launch. Please join us this year for the 4th annual MJM Trail Run for HOPE and help put an end to pancreatic cancer!
