HOLIDAY-THEMED BANDANAS WITH A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE TO ALL REGISTRANTS.
Our racing mission continues to be to produce affordable, hedonistically fun & athletically competitive races, that are technically sound (correctly-measured courses with minimum turns and visible distance – mile or Km – markers), that also benefit some charity(-ies) with a populist & gender parity focus – for the average runner/walker (including the novices) and also for the seasoned, serious racer.
Christmas is a season of hope and joy and peace. It also is a season when we pray that benevolence, justice, mutual respect & security and peace may pervade during our mortal sojourn on this our shared planet. For, even as we are able to run/walk in delight and health, it isn’t so rosy for so many people out there – “…the poor and helpless, the cold, the hungry and the oppressed, the sick and those who mourn, the lonely, the unloved, the aged and little children…” They also should be able to “smile at the stars in the heavens above”.
So this race brings us a chance to engage in athletic fun, competition & camaraderie while sharing the spirit of Christmas with funds for the less fortunate in our midst, the marginalized, the needy.
Net proceeds from the race will benefit the mission of St. Alban;’s Episcopal of Arlington. St. Alban’s, , [817-264-3083 / www.saintalbansarlington.org], currently meets & worships at Theatre Arlington, 305 W. Main, Arlington, TX 76010
