About This Activity
The 3rd annual Living4Burke 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run takes place at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA (Barn 6) The event includes post-race food/drink, music and race awards. This is a charity 5K run/walk and it will be timed by Cajun Timing.
This 5K is Living4Burke's biggest fundraiser each year. The funds raised are used to promote awareness and prevention of sudden cardiac arrest and death in student athletes. Living4Burke was founded in 2012 after Burke Cobb died of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest at Dutchtown High School. Since his death, The Living4Burke Foundation has performed preventative heart screenings on over 1500 athletes. Living4Burke is also responsible for the passing of a recent law (The Burke Cobb Act) which requires all High School students to learn CPR and AED use before they graduate.
This is a great cause and we hope to see you at the event !
