Donations to Carly’s Club provide critical funding in order to make significant strides in pediatric cancer research. Currently, Roswell Park’s Dr. Matthew Barth is exploring more effective ways of treating lymphoma, one of the most common cancers in young people. Lymphoma, the third most common pediatric malignancy and the single most common in adolescents and young adults, is treatable with highly toxic multi-agent chemotherapy regimens that are associated with significant acute and late side effects. New developments could give patients a bet-ter shot at survival and would lower doses of chemotherapy, reducing the toxic side effects of those treatments and improving patients’ quality of life. Additionally, gifts to Carly’s Club fund year-round social support programs meeting the emotional and social needs of Roswell Park’s youngest patients. Recently, Carly’s Club hosted the following events for these deserving patients and their families: an overnight experience at the Buffalo Zoo, a day of bowling at Airport Lanes, and game night at Dave and Buster’s. Carly’s Club members, Nya and Sydney enjoying some time in the Carly’s Club suite at the Sabres game!
