About This Activity

The "Flyway Byway" Tour will cycle the unspoiled Missouri River and prairie pothole region where teeming flocks of waterfowl have gathered for untold centuries. In Steele, stand beside the world's largest Sandhill Crane rising 40' high on the prairie. Experience North Dakota's unique German-Russian Heritage including the nationally historic beautiful Gothic style St. Mary's Church and iron cross cemetery at Hague and breathtaking early 1900's church of Sts. Peter and Paul in Strasburg. Plan to explore legendary Fort Mandan where Lewis and Clark met Sakakawea their Indian guide to the Pacific. Take time in Washburn for the world class Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.
