About This Activity

Do you dare swim with the Bear Lake Monster?

The Bear Lake Monster Swim is a 7-mile point-to-point swim across the width of Bear Lake.  The swim is open to solo swimmers and 2 to 6-person relay teams.  All solo swimmers must provide their own support paddler.  Relay teams are responsible for providing their own support craft, large enough to hold all team members. We recommend Cisco's Landing for boat rentals.

Swimmers will receive a parking pass via email that will need to be displayed in their vehicle.  Swimmers will meet at the Bear Lake State Park Marina in Garden City for check-in, body marking, packet pickup, etc.  The swim will start in the water just north of the Bear Lake Marina and will on the opposite side of the lake at Cisco Beach.

The 7 mile solo swim is one of three swims that make up the Utah Triple Crown. The other two swims are the 8 mile Antelope Island to Black Rock swim at the Great Salt Lake and the 10 mile swim at Deer Creek Reservoir.

Swimmers who complete all three of these swims in the same year will receive the Utah Triple Crown award at the annual Salt Lake Open Water (SLOW) awards dinner.

We are offering a discounted bundle for anyone who is interested in doing the Utah Triple Crown this year. Please visit the Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim registration page to register for the Utah Triple Crown.

Bear Lake Lodging is offering a 10% discount when you book your stay over the phone and mention the Bear Lake Monster Swim.
