About This Activity

The Cops & Robbers Dash is a unique opportunity to legally run from the cops, support a worthy cause, and enjoy refreshments, take-aways, and awards afterwards! The Dash begins on November 5, 2016 at 9 a.m. at the entrance to Eastham Park (Luray Avenue, Front Royal, VA -- near the boat landing). Runners will dash along Trails 1 & 2, which shoulder the picturesque Shenandoah River.  Runners dash these trails twice.  During the dash, runners are labeled as "robbers" and will be pursued by local law enforcement, who will attempt to tag runners. If they are tagged, runners will be required to freeze in place for 5 seconds, which effectively reduces their times. So robbers are encouraged to "evade the police".  All runners will receive refreshments and take-aways. Awards will be given to the top three individuals with the fastest times. All proceeds from the event benefit the Front Royal Police Foundation, a non-profit organization. The Front Royal Police Foundation provides funds to the Front Royal Police Department for equipment and training needs beyond what can be supported through the limited local government budget. **This is a rain/snow or shine event.** Please check Facebook/Police Foundation for pertinent announcements. Because of the nature of the race and the trail, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the race. All children under the age of 18 must have a parent to sign the liability waiver.
