About This Activity

Running along the beautiful San Joaquin River on a crisp autumn morning offers the runner a great opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy one of the great rivers of the West. The 2nd longest river in California which runs along the northern border of Fresno offers great recreational and fishing opprotunities and we would love to celebrate the river by having a run.

The Run by the River is  part of the Fresno SalmonFest which will boast food trucks, fly fishing lessons, free canoe rides, kids activities along with educational activities. And the best part is that there will be live music. Music, fun and a run on a beautiful November day is how families and people should enjoy the Central Valley. Vist us at

Each registration will get a t-shirt, a raffle to win prizes, a cool wrist band and a fish taco lunch!  If you dress up as a fish you get 4x's the raffle tickets!

Event details and schedule

Run starts at 10am, 10:05 for kids.

After the run enjoy the festivities of food, music, canoes and other fun things!

The festival ends at 5pm but you'll get a whole day of great fun. Dress in layers because it'll be nippy in the morning but by afternoon it'll be nice and warm enough for shorts.

Get your friends or co-workers to come out. Most of the proceeds will go towards the Boys and Girls Club on Cedar in South Central Fresno.

There will be plenty of gifts given away through out the whole day! We are trying to promote the many great things the river can provide for families.  Nothing better than a lazy canoe ride in the summer from Lost Lake Park to Washington Beach.

And bring a mirror because we'll have the news out there for this big event!
