About This Activity
This is the revival year of the Franklin FUMC Run for Missions. If you've been around Franklin for decades, you may remember our church's run back in the 1990s. Since then our church has moved to its new location at Mack Hatcher and Franklin Road with enough land for an entire 5K race on the church property.
Come ready for a fun morning of running or walking around our more than 100 acres, music by the Grateful Bluegrass Band, and homemade baked goods for prizes! A half mile of the course is on a grass horse track, so expect a little dew on your running shoes.
The missions committee at FUMC helped determine where the proceeds of the race will go according to current needs. This year half of the proceeds will go to the local Meals On Wheels charity that provides hot meals to the elderly or disabled around Franklin; a quarter of the proceeds will go to help fund the FUMC Youth summer mission trips; and the final quarter will go to the general mission budget (both local and international) of the church.

Event details and schedule
Packet Pickup: Friday 4/1/16 from 4-7pm at Franklin FUMC.
Schedule for Race Morning 4/2/16:
- Day-Of Registration: 6:30am to 7:15am.
- 5K Race Begins: 8:00am. Runners, walkers, baby joggers/strollers are all welcome.
- 1K Fun Run Begins: 9:15am.
- 5K Course Closure: 9:30am.
- Awards: 9:30am will be the goal! Prizes to the Male and Female Top 3 Overall and Top 3 Age Group Winners (by five year increments from under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, and so on).
Parking: Free parking at Franklin FUMC.
Water Stop: Provided at approximately the 1.5 mile mark.
Waivers: To be signed at the time of registration (either online or at event).
What to wear: Dress for the weather which could be chilly winter or beautiful spring!
Food/Drink: Water, sports drink, fruit, and other refreshments available after the run.
