About This Activity
Kayla’s Village is hosting a “Heal to Toe Walk”for individuals, families, and communities that have experienced loss.
The mission of Kayla's Village is to be the premier provider of innovative seminars and support families, professionals, and communities. We are working toward improving lives one person, one family, one professional, and one community at a time.
Loss can be defined as the state or feeling of grief when deprived of someone or something of value. ALLindividuals, families, and communities have experienced some form of loss in their lifetime. Types of loss include:
Loss of person or relationship.
Loss of some aspect of one’s self.
Loss of an external object such as a home or possession.
Developmental loss including loss of childhood, parenting responsibilities, and loss of physical strengths and abilities as one ages.
Loss due to lack of resources, for example, food, healthcare, and education.
It is important that society learns to develop ways of coping with problems rather than denying the impact on their lives. Including family members and support systems in the process is part of the healing process. No one should have to face their losses alone.
Walking has been proven to be beneficial to our health and can be therapeutic as well. According to the Mayo Clinic, daily brisk walk can help you live a healthier lifestyle. Some major benefits include:
Maintaining a healthy weight.
Preventing or managing various conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and Type 2 diabetes.
Strengthening bones and muscles.
Improving balance and coordination.
Walking is a natural activity that does not require any special clothing or equipment. It can be used as a tool for healing the mind, body, and soul.
It takes a village!
This is why we invite you to join us in our efforts to raise funds and awareness towards this cause.
Take the first step in walking towards a healthier you AND remind others they are not alone in their journey towards healing!
