About This Activity

Run With The Rabbi

TEMPLE KOL AMI EMANU-EL IN CONJUNCTION WITH KOKO FITCLUB OF SOUTH FLORIDA PRESENTS:The 2nd Annual Purim 5K “Run with the Rabbi ” - March 15, 2015

What does Purim Commemorate

Purim commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from a plot to destroy them in the ancient Persian Empire of King Achashveros. The plot was foiled, and today, Purim is celebrated with ritual, silliness, costumes, and the reading of the Megila. This year, we will again celebrate Purim with a 5k “Run with the Rabbi ”.

What is Purim

Purim is a holiday where all are equal. Tradition teaches us to wear costumes on Purim, so we are all indistinguishable, and those receiving charity are not embarrassed.

Who does it benefit?

Purim is a great opportunity for mitzvot, so we will again honor this tradition by contributing the net proceeds from our 2nd Annual Purim 5k “Run with the Rabbi ” to children’s programs at Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El.
