About This Activity

The trail is rooted deep into the woods of Kelley Hill and includes a mixture of dirt, water, mud, trees, hills, gravel and much much more!  This race is not for the faint of heart and would make Chesty Puller proud - but it is SO much fun and a great challenge! And after enjoy a great race party with prizes, food and much more.

5K Trail Fun Run at 830



  1. Male individual divisions for 17 & under, 18-29, 30-39,40-49,50-59, 60 & older
  2. Female individual divisions for 17 & under, 18-29, 30-39,40-49,50-59, 60 & older
  3. 3 or 4 person military team (each team member must register individually, please notify staff at packet pick up of your team members and name)

Awards for top 3 in each division given to 13.1 mile run only.

Entry Fee:

  • 13.1 mile Registration- pre registration: $50 through March 8th.  Late registration: $70 8 March - the day of the. Please note - gate access on post is much easier if you register early!

Free Commemorative Challenge t-shirt to first 100 paid entrants. First 100 finishers of the 13.1 run get a Mariner finisher coin.

  • 5K Fun Run registration is $15.00 (separate registration form)

No t-shirt or coin given to 5K participants

The best way to get to the event site is to take 185 south to Fort Benning. Once you come through the gate continue until you see 1st Division Road East - toward Kelley Hill. Follow first division road several miles. You wil lsee a fork in the road and you need to stay to the left. Dickman Field will be on your left. There will be signs posted along the way as well.

Event details and schedule

Race day registration and packet pick up will begin at 0700. Packet pick up will be held on race morning only.

There are plently of signs leading you from 185 gate to the event site. We have plenty of parking and port-o-johns.

We also have a bounce house and tanks for the kids to play on - so bring the family.

Please make sure you have your drivers license in order to get on post. Post access has changed and below is the procedures for getting onto post. Please make sure you use the 185 gate.

 Department of Emergency Services (DES) at Fort Benning are working with MWR to expedited gate access for all PRE-REGISTERED participants. The Sports Office will provide the Police with a roster of all pre-registered athletes to be checked off at the gate by showing their state issue ID card only. Those who do not pre-register will have to stop by the I-185 gate, drivers will have to provide their Drivers License, vehicle registration and proof of insurance, all other passengers will have to show their State or Federal issued ID Cards, and complete the necessary process. All ID Cards will be scanned which are automatically checked against state and federal data bases in helping to keep our bases secure, we want to be sure that everyone understands the new access control procedures and still considers participating in our sporting events.
