About This Activity

The Fourteenth Annual Master of Environmental Studies Student Association (MESSA) 8K for H2O is an 8K Run to promote improved water quality in the Charleston area. This year’s race was organized to raise proceeds for the East Cooper Land Trust, a non-profit, non-political organization that is devoted to conserving our natural spaces and watersheds, thus the quality of life for current and future generations. All race events, start and finish line will be near the Folly Beach Fishing pier at 101 E. Arctic Ave. Race monitors will be at each turn. Strollers Welcome! Top overall M/F winners will be awarded. Age group awards to top M/F in each division, 17 and under, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Food and beverages provided for all registered participants. Race packets and T-shirts may be picked up on Race Day starting at 7:45 am at the registration tables located near the Folly Fishing Pier on Center Street. If no shirt size was marked, a large will be given. Race Day registration will be held at 8 a.m. Silent Auction will be held near registration table for duration of the event. Regular registration before February 7th is $20.00. $25.00 after. $5 off for college students.

Wear clothes that you feel comfortable running in. Water will be provided but please bring extra and your own bottle if you can. If you registered as a student, please bring your valid student ID at the time of the race.
